  • Please edit the sargraph.conf and update below parameters.

SARUSER = provide a user ID, this should be created in each and every client server which you want to enable monitoring and SARGRAPH tool will use this user to collect sar reports and other system configuration

KEY = Provide RSA or DSA key path, create one KEY if not available using command ssh-keygen. Press enter to accept the defaults.

#ssh-keygen -t dsa

Note: If key not reated, it will be created if you run addserver script.

ROOTDIR = Update install directory, if you installed other than the default.

Automating the SAR collection:

Final step is to schedule the getsar.sh script in cron to get the sargraph database updated regular interval for all clients.

If MODE=0 in /etc/sargraph.conf then use below cronjob:

00,10,20,30,40,50 * * * * /var/www/html/sargraph/scripts/getsar.sh > /dev/null 2>&1

Note:

. If you want to set the polling interval ever 10min or 30min use MODE=0, in the /etc/sargraph.conf Then you need to adjust the cron schedule to every 10mins or 30mins.

IF you are using MODE=1 in /etc/sargraph.conf then use below cronjob, this will collect sar reports once in day:

50 23 * * * /var/www/html/sargraph/scripts/getsar.sh > /dev/null 2>&1
