Terms used in this document

sargraph server:  The server where you are installing the sargraph package

sargraph client:   The server which you are adding to the sargraph control, in order to collect the sar reports to plot the graph


Prerequisite for sargraph server:

  • Sargrpah is collecting the sar reports from clients using ssh. Ssh should available in sargraph server and client servers.
  • Sargraph is a web based application, Apache web server should be installed and running.
  • PHP 5.4 and above


sargraph Client side requirements:

  • Sar pakage should be installed and configrured on client servers. Please see About SAR section for installion and configuration.
  • SSH should be installed and configured on Client servers
  • User ID which you have mentioned in sargraph.conf should be created, default user is sargraph

Installation of sargraph version 3u1:

Download sargraph_version3u1.tgz to /tmp. Unzip and untar it. And run the INSTALLER

#tar xzf sargraph_version3u1.tgz

#cd sargraph_version3u1


Browse to http://yourserver/sargraph, you should get a sargraph login page.

Default credentials:

Login name: admin 
password: admin123

Sargraph user management:

A user acount is required to login to sargraph web portal

Adding user:

Go to sargraph scripts directory in sargraph server and run add_user


#cd /var/www/html/sargraph/scripts




Deleting User:


#cd /var/www/html/sargraph/scripts



Password reset:


#cd /var/www/html/sargraph/scripts



Sargraph client management:

Add a client server to sargraph

#cd /var/www/html/sargraph/scripts

#./addserver servername

Before adding server ensure sargraph user created in targeted client.

example: Adding linux server mario to sargraph

[root@sgserver .ssh]# /var/www/html/sargraph/scripts/addserver mario

You are done, go to sargraph portal and view the performane graphs.

Modify Server

#cd /scripts

#./modify_server remove

#./modify_server disable

#./modify_server enable
